I just believe in trying to show my "nice" side when people are nice to me. What little is left of it.

I will be the first to admit that when I was born, God DID NOT give me the nice genes and the patient genes. I"m just learning how to fit in those roles over the last few years. I use to be a devil on wheels.

And that's putting it nicely.
I meant it in the best way possible. It was an ugly situation and it would have been very easy to let it fester and get even worse. You took the high road and showed kindness. Hopefully they have learned from it, and you will have peace. I'm glad you're showing your "nice" side now, keep drinking the wine!!

I can relate to that. When I left to go to college, I always knew I would be going BACK to the country after graduating from college. I had a lot of friends that wanted to go to these big cities to live. Not me. I always knew where my heart was. Now some of those same friends have either moved back home or planning to move back. A guy that I dated in college wanted to live in the "BIG CITY" after we graduated. I hate to say it but I broke up with him for that reason. I knew that I wouldn't make it in the BIG CITY, so I called it off because of our differences. I knew that I would never change his mind and he would never change my mind as far as where we wanted to live. Best decision I ever made. Needless to say, he is still in the BIG CITY and I"m still a country girl.

Oh, and another reason we couldn't make it because he said that I never asked him to do anything for me. I"m like, "HUH". He said I always did things myself and I never asked for any help. Uh, well, I can't help it if my daddy taught his baby girl the right way. I can't depend on a man to do EVERYTHING for me. That ain't happening. My daddy taught me to NEVER depend on a man for everything. Be independent and that's what I do.

LOL -- my "EX-fiancee" is still living in Nashville. He couldn't wait to get out. I couldn't wait to STAY PUT! I wouldn't even leave to go away to college - I am a graduate of La. College in Pineville.

When I was 10 years old, I used to ride my white mare Lady all over out here. Out of all the places we went, my favorite was the 3 pecan trees in the center of the pasture. I used to ride out there & share a PB&J sandwich with Lady & I swore that some day, I would live on a place just like that.

My Grandfather decided that year to divide up his land among his 8 children. We all gathered at his place & he put the lot numbers of the property into his cap & had each person come up & draw a lot.

When it got to Daddy - who was the youngest - there was one slip of paper left in his cap. Daddy told me to go up and get it.

It was the 10 acres I loved so much. Those 3 pecan trees still stand in my backyard today.

Add to that the two abandoned rent houses up the road from us - we stopped them from being used for prostitution and crack houses, but we just can't get them condemned & torn down! We keep trying, though.
And the people who think our bayou (with the NO TRESPASSING signs on it - yes, THAT bayou) is a dump! Somebody abandoned a big screen TV this week.
The place behind us is for sale. The owners (who don't live there) dumped 6 big black garbage bags of trash there. It had food, etc. Animals have torn the bags open and empty food containers, paperwork, etc. is blowing all over the place. I called their real estate agent and she claimed not to have seen anything the last time she was out there...SHE IS AN IDIOT!!! She then told me that her clients wouldn't have dumped trash out there and someone else must have. SOOOOO...I marched over there and started looking at all the crap blowing around. The owners NAME was on all sorts of paperwork and trash. Hmmmmm...I called the agent back and told her...She said she'd get it taken care of. I took a couple of pictures and sent them to her cell phone. AGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

Love that story. I like putting the numbers in his cap. :)

She should feel STUPID saying that they wouldn't have done that.

So what did she say when she saw the pics? What happened to the owners of the property?
