This is such a cool mystery! Doesn't it make you wish you had one of those tiny pet cameras that a cat or dog could wear around the neck??? It records for hours and then you can see where they go and what they see. Now that would be a cool chicken video!

Now there is an idea! I have a game camera and never even thought about setting it up so I can see what she looks like. I close my coop up just after cleaning it for two hours to let any dust settle before my chickens are allowed back in (one of mine sneezes like crazy with dust), these mystery hens seem to only lay when the coop is closed up. Doesn't bother me, I hope they grab some feed on the way threw for their trouble. The new white layer has left me an egg for the last three days and the blue layer only lays about once every three days so she is due to lay tomorrow.

Scrambled up some eggs and garlic and oregano from the garden for Blue, my new broody EE hen and her new adoptees. She did great last night. Then fed the peeps some omelet before her self awww my 1st accidental broody melts me lol

When I went in a scared a blue jay sitting on my chair. I think this may be my predator nothing in the traps.
Sucks because they nest all over the chicken area protecting the area from hawks and eagles, sounding alarms and attacking for their own nests and I have seen them battle a hen over a tomato caterpillar so they're brave and out for easy meals. Ug. They've gotten into a rotten out eve from where a falling tree hit and nested in the attic of the rabbitry. The jay inside was banging against windows trying to get out and up into a ceiling tile in the drop ceiling we use to vent the room in summer. I shoo'd it out the door and stapled netting over the eve outside and sealed bad vent. I scooped up the nest upstairs(2 eggs in it) and took it to the outside wall (about 3 ft away from original sight but lower) and set it under the eves in a nandina shrub. Maybe they'll come back? Probably not tho. But they're out of the house!
I didn't see any sign of chicks or feathers that weren't a jays tho. Still can't have them nesting there tho.

Lol check out this CX chick climbing stairs to get to me. I fed them a treat of smothered livers and they went nuts in the mud. It was like a flag football game! but grosser :/

You don't know what was going on.She could be the one who put him up to it.The fact she didn't wait for the police makes me think she wasn't innocent but part of the problem.

It's unconfirmed, but it's being said that they found her body at the end of the road he was at. Waiting to hear from the news if it's true. I'm looking for the video of the standoff. It's said that the guy claimed to be in the witness protection program and that "they" (whoever "they" are) assassinated his girlfriend. But, I've heard he sounds like he's definitely off his rocker in the video.
So sad and scary that this has come so close to home. It's in a "really good" part of town. It's funny how you feel insulated from "bad" when you're really not....

I am so sorry to hear about her. That makes me so sad and so mad that he would do that to her!!!!!! Let's pray for her family and his as well.
