How can I be so lucky to have 5 male lamb born !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????
I am cursed !!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a shame they have an appointment with the butcher. What am I supposed to do with
5 RAMS !!!!!!??????????

My condolences! If they might be good breeding stock maybe you could sell them as such. Or sell them for people to just grow out and put into their freezer.
How many more babies are coming?
I usually have 2 guys that come over ever year and get a ram. They have a ground pit that they put the lamb in and cook it. I may try to sell them but if not, I will try to put as many in the freezer as possible. It's cheaper for me to take to the butcher. I never pay more than $50.00 to have a ram processed and I have anywhere from 45 lbs - 100 lbs of lamb meat that can last me up to 1 year depending upon how much I have. To be honest, I lose out when I sell the lamb because it's worth more to me (money wise) in the freezer as meat. I also have people who know me that I know I have lamb meat stop buy to buy certain cuts and I charge them market price.
The last price I got on lamb (today's price when I called around this morning) is below:
$22.99 a lb for lamb ribs
$15.99 a lb for lamb chops
$ 8.99 a lb for leg of lamb
$ 7.99 a lb for breast of lamb
$ 7.99 a lb for lamb shoulder

So to sell a lamb for $100.00 (which some people think is too high and want me to GIVE it to them for $50.00

and I could have over $1,000.00 worth of lamb (depending on the size and cuts) in my freezer is a loss.
I have 2 more mamas that will be dropping any day. I guess the guys spent every few nights with a different woman.
Now that I'm looking at these prices, I think these babies will go in the freezer.
