This is my PSA. Please pay attention.

I have a coworker who has been getting progressively more ill over the past 2 weeks. Her GP told her she had a gall bladder infection. Not so. She had to go to the ER this past weekend because she had major edema - there was so much fluid that she couldn't breathe. Turns out she has a bacterial growth on the aortic valve of her heart. The doctors believe the bacteria migrated from a recurring TOOTH INFECTION she fought several months ago. She did not see a dentist and have it treated properly. Now she must have a total valve replacement and a resection of her aorta. Very serious surgery with months of down time if everything goes well. Top that off with an estimated $400,000 bill.

Take care of your teeth and mouth! Oral infections can travel to the brain and heart. Scary, scary stuff!!!

Please say a prayer for my coworker. They have scheduled surgery for tomorrow morning.

I have been watching these posts about people loosing their babies from TSC.  What hatchery do they buy from in this state?  I am really sorry for you having to go through this!  Are you going to have a necropsy done!  If so, where?

I had considered buying some from there a couple of weeks ago and now I am SO, SO glad that I didn't!

Be VERY glad you didn't. I know the chicks at my TSC in Leesville this year came from a hatchery in New Mexico.

Awwwww. How sad. I am definitely going to say a prayer for her. The mouth/teeth is one of my things that I do not let go undone. I make sure I get my cleanings twice a week and brush and floss twice a day. I have seen so many people who let a lot of things go untreated and it turns out so bad. But who knew that it could turn out as bad as it has for her. WOW! And it's $400,000.00? Am I reading that right? Four Hundred Thousand Dollars???????????

Morning folks, how's everybody. Me and mine are fine. hehe I have the quietest babies ever. I've checked them 4 times today and they love the fermented feed. Very content.

Downs Syndrome: When my grandbaby Nikki was 8 or so (4 yrs ago) she had a terrible case of pneumonia. Was in intensive care 5 weeks because they had to keep her knocked out the whole time. One on the nurses inserted a feeding tube down her throat and pierced the lung two places. Didn't notice for a few hours what had happened. Her Mom called me from Austin saying to come, she was dying.. I took my funeral clothes literally. While I was on the way her heart stopped twice. Got it going again. They finally woke her up after a month and was she ******. You know, when you get so mad at someone you just want to punch or kick them. She had no boundaries. The first time it happened, she pulled her leg back and drop kicked a nurse in the jaw. Knocked her down.

Nobody but mama was safe from those thighs It took her months and months to be able to get around without heavy breathing. At her worst the Dr said her lungs were shredded. Her mom dropped out of nursing school that semester but has finally finished her degree. Her bill was a cool half million. Which is over 2 million over her lifetime. One of the only benefits I can tell of Obamacare is that they can't cancel your insurance with a cut off of 2 mil.
Nikki is 12 now and has topped off at 4'7". Loves to use her IPad to watch cartoons. She's a pistol.

That's the 2nd person I've heard of who developed heart trouble from bad teeth. Hope she has an uneventful surgery & fast recovery. Prayers that God guides the surgeon's hands.

Here is the 4th day of the coop build forgot to post yesterday. The other pic is the little bantam game hen we couldn't leave at the feed store by herself. She has become our friendliest bird. Loves to be held when we go out she comes running it's funny she outruns all the other large hens.

It looks great! love the banty hen too!

She may want to get a new GP as a gall bladder infection can be tested for in a simple 7 min blood test and confirmed with an ultrasound (standard practice) and is not common. It is more common to get gall stones then an infection. The reason they tell you to put the most important meds under your tongue is because there it goes directly into your blood stream and the first stop from there is your heart. A lot of cases of heart disease and heart attacks are caused by poor mouth hygiene. They try to educate the public but the risks are higher with open wounds such as piercings and broken or infected teeth so most warnings are wasted with piercing shops. Lack of oral hygiene has also been linked to increase risk of blocked arteries.
