"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I have this mound next to rabbitry. It's not going anywhere and drops off the back of the mound pretty steep. The vines/weeds are relentless here :(

I also have a pile of spent rabbit hay. We burn it, chop n compost, cover crops but still have loads of it. Can I "mulch" this mound deep and keep from having to weed whack it every other day? Or would it be like feeding them? Lol

Where do you get your hay?

I have these in this color and purple :)

We had those vines. There is only one way to get rid of them. Dig them up. The root is deep and looks like a potato. If you don 't get all the root they come back. After we got tired of digging we hired day labor Mexicans to dig the rest. If you don't you will fight them as long as you live their.

Here's the latest pics of my chicks. The Phoenix chicks I'm wondering if their a pair or if there is a roo. Hard to tell I've never had them before.

Looks like the left one is a BBR cockerel the right silver duckwing pullet need more clearer pic for the one on the right but pretty sure on the left one I can recognize roosters as I've had/get lots of practice at this farm, sad to say LOL but they are pretty though.

Jeff

PS the cross of those two will yield golden duckwing color pattern my favorite of the duckwing colors

Ron bought those at a swap was told they were golden Phoenix . I thought the one on the left was a roo because the colors are so vibrant. They were also selling silver ones. The other is the same breed at least they look the same except for color. It's hard to get a good pic they are so shy. I will get good pics tomorrow.. Hope there not 2 Roos .

That's a very good looking bird. I'll take better pics tomorrow to see if you still think they're duckwing..
