We have tongs and jars. Collect as many as possible. Check low branches of oak trees and similar low hanging foliage as well as trunks of oaks. Use tongs and put in jars. Close lids. Leave them. Collect through may. Next year will be half as many and so on. Large black ones we have here are a moth. The cycle is egg hatching on low foliage and trunks. Then the caterpillars climb and eat up the tree and form cocoons up in the tree tops. Then into the moths again. Break the cycle if you don't want to use the sprays (we couldn't we have fish)
Hi, again, trying to spot read to keep up just a little, the Black Moth Caterpillar I will be keeping a look out for.![]()
I have my camper, it is a toy hauler. I have to get air conditioning for it, it could be rather warm otherwise.
I hope to be on the road by June 7 or 8. I am re-homing all my girls. It is unfair to put them on the road. It will be to stressful for them. I have 4 chicks that are about 6 weeks old, and new hatch chicks

As of my going to bed I had 5 chicks. 2 are NN, I will most likely start out with them. Hopefully by June 7th I will have a good idea which ones of the older chicks may be pullets. Right now it looks like 1 pullet and a maybe. I need to add a Silkie to my family. Growing up on the road they will be used to it and moving will be just another day. Just as my girls will check out new foods, because I am always giving them treats from my kitchen. They will check out my projects and when I moved things around they didn't care. But every few weeks one or 2 days traveling May just be to much for the older girls.
What I am looking for in my little flock, is an interesting mix and the ahaaa factor with the Silkie.
I picked up a cat harness, I am going to see if it will work on a chicken.
My plan right now is to head to a friend in MO, that I haven't seen in 40 years. He is in his 70's now. Then I need to go up to MN to visit family up there, pick up my family tree with address and phone no.. Then work my way down to LA. I plan on staying a while. Hope to get there in the hottest dog days. And stay until it gets nice out. Just let the wind blow. Do a little fishing and maybe some hunting. I do not have a rife, but I have a shotgun with a slug barrel. Sadly, I think I would be ill advised to go boar hunting with that. But! Who knows, I might come across a gun show and find a rife with my name on it. I have no problem doing the waiting thing or back ground check thing. If it is right it will happen.
Please be on the look out for these this summer. They were all over the place on yesterday. Last year, someone was at my house and got stung by one and the pain bought him to his knees. He didn't feel well at all after this sting.
I don't know if this creature will take the place of the over population of crazy ants for us in South Louisiana, so I'm giving everyone a heads up. I wouldn't advise anyone to touch these.

Thank you to all of you for prayers for my friend. Pam, you were right, the hospice nurse gives him 48 hours. I made a schedule yesterday to cover him all day and night so I could stay home. I'm going back today. He will be covered. The hospice nurse works nights at the nursing home and checks in on him and texts us.
