"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Angelisi,

I just got 3 black australorp's from wiki chicki they are 3 months. I need little girl shrugging shoulders . So when Ron comes home I'll have the look down. Jennifer coming to Covington that's close to me hope it works out so we can meet. Are you doing the 5 k? Pam
I have 5 Black Australorps 6 weeks old and i think they cause more havoc in my flock than my 9 week old chicks, they fight each other, the RSL, RIR, and even the BR.s that are twice their size. It beats all i ever seen.

I have 2 one year olds. They are very very doscel. My gold laced wyandottes and one ee are the older and meaner
ones. they take turns being head hancho. The gold laced wyandotte is by for the meanest.
so I guess it depends on the flock and head hen. They are greatlayers of large brown eggs. 3 for 20 I'm a happy camper!! Pam

Went berry picking again this morning. Hubby spotted a honey of a patch with the biggest blackberries I have ever seen! We ended up with over 3lbs (3quarts). It was a nice time being with my favorite 3.

AND THANKS TO PICKING BERRIES I NOW HAVE CHIGGER BITES! UUrrrg!!!

But those berries are worth it.

We mixed in 3 bags of rabbit manure to our new 24ft bed the other day.

And she said we could have more poo, because she just can't use it all!

Planted a couple things into the garden and watered some of the beds.

Made a HUGE fire! Today I learned that Rosemary trimmings are fabulous fire starters.

While we were watching the fire our little mini Dachshund/Yorkie kept going back to the fence and woofing. Hubby finally spotted what it was.

It was an Amadillo........eating a MOLE!!!! What in the world! I had NO IDEA that they ate those things!!! I hate the stupid moles, so we left the Armadillo alone......for now.

I have a very determinedly broody Bantam Cochin........I am trying to decide what to do with the poor dear. Stubborn.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Sounds like a fun day. Beautiful berries. I keep watching a couple of patches. They seem late here this year. The berries were still green and small last week. I have a VERY stubborn blue orpington that will not stop laying in the nesting box. She is determined! I guess she forgot we HAVE NO ROOSTER!!! LOL... I am open to advice about what to do with her. It's been weeks. I go out several times a day and boot her out of the nesting box, as well as, keep the eggs out.

All my turkey babes have made it so far, but I leave tomorrow for a week in the Bahamas. I'm entrusting them to a very good friend of mine. I left very specific directions. Fingers crossed they will all be alive when I get back!! I have confidence in him, but I can't help to worry.

That's awesome, love the berries, I picked a 4inch pot half full and was so proud...:th :lau Love that Amadillos eat moles BUT fair warning they'll dig a basketball size hole to get one :gig I trip often, those holes were the cause for awhile, now I have no excuses. I feel your pain tho as I am covered in mosquito bites and so swollen :( huge mistake for me working all day w/o my spray. We did load - unload - cart - dump & spread 2 full pallets of black mulch on the property. The gardens are just going to be lovely. I am dyed purple, so sore I could cry but its done for the year! :bun
