"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

My other surprise when I got home, was a new horse arriving yesterday evening.  I usually have quarter horse brood mares.  This is my first full blooded thoroughbred mare and foal.  She's a pretty thing.  The baby is hilarious.  I'll have to post a picture soon.  The place they came from, they were only being kept in a stall.  Talk about funny to watch.  The baby is running around constantly.  Their owner didn't like how they were being cared for, etc. so he asked if we would take her on.  They are in a separate pasture right now, while they get to know the other mama's and babies through the fence.  I don't even know their names yet...

Awwwww. It says a lot for your reputation. I've seen your set up and care and if I had the more expensive mare in the world you would be the one I would want to care for it

That's so sweet, thank you!! We don't have a fancy setup at all, but all "my" mares become part of the family (even the crazy one). My boys got out to the fence to meet the new mare before I did, but I ran a close second (had to get the refrigerated groceries up). Some of the mares were scared, but curious about my boys when then first arrived here. I guess they weren't too familiar with kids. Now, they almost always come to the fence when the boys are out and either watch them or call to them so they will come and pet them.

Thanks again Prim. It means a lot that you say that.

I have someone wanting me to ship my 6 day old chicks. I have never shipped chicks before they are in kentucky and I live in Lake Charles, la. I am worried about shipping the babies has anyone ever done this and is it safe. I dont want to commit to it without getting some feedback.

I wouldn't this time of year -- too hot.

Thanks Terri. It really does mean a lot to me that you say that. There are moments, like a few minutes ago, that I was outside scrubbing and dumping out the huge water tubs so they can refill with cold water that I wonder WHY am I doing this??? It looks (and smells) like I was in the water tub! YUCK!

Uh huh. Thanks. I've got 18 more eggs shipping today of SBEL's
