On the way home today, i got a call from my wife, she said a guy was at her office and wanted to know if i would take in 20 some odd month old pullets of different breeds, White Leghorns, Araucauna, Dominiques, Americaunas, Pincled Plymouth Rocks, it seams there was a snake attack and his father told him either the chickens leave or he was going to have to leave, i agreed to take them, It ended up being a rescue situation, several are missing toe nails, whole toes and one had just the lower half of its right wing dangling by a thread of skin, anyone that would allow this to happen needs to be horse whipped, i and my wife took scissors and cut the wing off and blue coted the whole side and seprated it from the rest, i am at a loss as to what i can do for the others with lesser injury's, their toes are pretty well scabed over and look ok as far as infection. Please wish me luck in saving as many as i can, they are in good spirits so i guess that is a plus, they went right to the feed and water when i put them in the coop.
