Been so busy

First Cherokee tomato was amazing, hands down heirlooms are best I eat them like a sliced apple. Grow from seeds my children planted (thank you Lemon!) And a pullet egg from a chick hatched in March.

Had some issues at work, my manager delayed my pay- so many words-glad I'm on BYC lol so our anniversary get away was cancelled
Then at 11pm night before we were gifted a babysitter, a gift certificate for lunch and we escaped
An I told you so at me is in order..."August is jellyfish season..." I'm a tough broad. But when I was 22 I got nailed by a baracuda fish in the ankle in Florida wading in shallow blue water had an anklet on and BAM, worked like a lure and I needed 70 stitches...so I have been a beach dweller since. Avoid the water above toes this time hubby begs and I go a half mile out with him, wading through murky warm water we were having a blast tho - then it felt like I got shot in the foot! Noooooo! Then he hollered (he DOESN'T holler for pain-ever) and pulled a mass of slime off his shoulder and side crap we both realized we got nailed by a nettle. Didn't even KNOW nettles were here in the gulf! I knew the fake jellyfish (no sting same body type without tentacles) were here but cmon, nettles were a california worry! It hurt for awhile but he was on after a couple hours. We still had a blast and enjoyed a few hours without children

Racks are up, water piping laid and cages made. By end of week bunnies will be in!

me too and I get so mad when I pass somethin bugging me to remake/finish and then finally cave and go by and It's gone!

Haha. That's the worst. Even though I bought some of the materials for my new coop, a lot of it was roadside pick-up. When I ran out of boards before I was done, I went scouting for 2X4's. I found all I needed. I have a 2X4 radar. Lol

OK I am VERY VERY worried about Kuntrygirl (Julie).

I have not been able to get in touch with her in over 3 weeks.
The last time I spoke to her, she had kidney stones & had been in the hospital & was going back to have them broken up with ultrasound or whatever they do that with.
Then, she dropped out of contact. Her phone is going directly into voice mail now.

I don't know where she lives & don't know any relatives of hers.

But I think we'd better be doing some serious praying for her.

. I do not go in the water either. I figure it is shark and jellyfish habitat. Their advantage. Land is my habitat, my advantage there. Lol.

I have her address if you don't. PM me and I'll give it to you. I don't think it's far from you. I've been worried, too. I was mailing coupons to her and she dropped out of sight. If you can't go let me know, I'll try from BR. Is there any activity on her website? I'll check that, too.

Happy Monday everyone! I am coming to you all for advice once again. My hens will be 20 weeks tomorrow. I'm fairly certain a few of them are close to laying because their combs and wattles have grown and reddened noticeably in the past three weeks. So when should I put nest boxes in with them? Wait until they drop an egg or will putting them in now stimulate them to laying? My setup is not ideal so I have not put them in there yet bc I did not want them to start sleeping in them. They are wyandottes and I have also heard the opinion that they could possibly take longer than typical to start laying. Also should I start mixing in layer feed with their grower now? Thanks for any advice in advance!
