"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Pam are you talking about LSU Ag site? I just took a look and there's nothing about AI on there. I called a few offices in different parishes. No answer, so I guess they're all closed on Sat.
I think he wants to ship on Monday.
If he ships them, be sure to segregate them for a month or so. At least 100' apart.

There's absolutely no way I could quarantine like that. Plus I'd have to shower and change all clothes and shoes before I went to my coop.

I called all the offices I could and tried Nebraska office also. I guess all are closed on Saturdays.

It's possible they may not be let into the state so I'm thinking to just cancel for now. I really don't know what else to do today since I can't get any answers.

Yes the LSU ab site the poultry devision has vets they do the certification for NPIP. They will know what we will accept in this state. I had a feeling about the fertility when he became defensive when I told him how many hatched I knew their was a problem. Today they have more pep. I'll find another line to breed them with and hope it works for the better. A friend of mine wants to get a good line of wellsomerse to breed our own wellbars so we'll see. I'm glad you have the benefit of all the info so you can make an informed decision on how you want to proceed. Now you know why he took so long to get your order together he couldn't hatch enough. Anytime you bring new birds to your place they should be quarantined. Not just now because of aI. Pam

Pam, the fertility issue makes sense if that's the case for the long wait. So I just canceled, hope I don't regret it.

To be honest it's kind of a saving grace for me because I don't know what I'd do with all those birds. I wouldn't have had the space to have a serious breeding program with the Bielefelders. Which by the way are doing great and are becoming some very sharp looking birds. I'm really enjoying them. They've really turned a corner from where they were 6 weeks ago.

Thank you very much for the direction today.

Welcome Mire. I've always received lots of help from here and no question is too stupid LOL. I've tried to win that award.

None of them are acting differently either.
You need to treat them for coci, and welcome back

I've been reading that Oxine is really great for killing lots of "chicken" germs and is great for an egg wash if a person was so inclined to use one. So I bought a quart (which should last quite some time) and also a toe punch. Now if I can only find some GUTS to use the toe punch!!! After doing some cleaning inside the chicken barn in thinking about doing some old fashioned white wash on the bare wood. I've been wanting to paint, but haven't wanted to deal with the fumes. If I do the white wash that will not be an issue.

No problem. Happy to help in some small way.I'm glad the biefelders are coming along. They just take longer to mature thats their only draw back I can see. Pam

Most paint supply places carry low VOC paint. I've used it and you can stay in your house instead of leaving over night. Pam
