Hi Cody the lady that certified my flock wanted a shipping label that showed point of origin. She said "no shipping should occur if the birds are in a state with confirmed cases of AI" Luck for me my turkey poults are shipped from New Mexico and my geese and ducks are to ship from California week of June 22. She said the "shippers or hatchery should know" they are not supposed to ship. I don't know about ya'll but I am worried about next year when our migratory birds go back up north and return :/

Well this is a real bummer if I can't get them. Thank you Kitty for the input. I'm worried now, if the guy decides to ship anyway then it's taking a real chance. I would not want to be responsible for bringing AI here.

Finished the coop for my chicks today, and eggs in the bator are on day 16. I've thrown out three total, one with a blood ring and two that were infertile. The rest look great, and air cells are nice and big. Here's some photos of the coop and my chicks, which are at five weeks old for the wyandottes, and a month and a half old for the bantams. I plan on bringing one of the wyandotte cockerels, two of the bantam cockerels, and a Black Copper Marans cockerel that belongs to my cousin to a sale this saturday. Anyways, here are all the photos:
Love your coop looks like a Frank Loyde Wright Design. Pam

He should have a form Can't remember the number on it. But when you ship live birds your sopposed to have it filled out by a vet with the shippers NPIP number on it. Stating they are in good health. As for the state of emergency, I don't know what that intails as for as shiping but I bet states that don't have AI want to make sure they are tested. Pam

It wouldn't be your fault Cody it would be his. I was just telling Ron their not as lively as my other chicks. They aren'y eating as much or runing and jumping around. They don't have any sickness no runny nose etc. But they are quarentined and I'm watching them like a hawk. He probally shouldn't have shipped the eggs. We will see. Pam

Ok. Thank you very much Pam. I've got an email to him asking if he's not shipping birds because of the flu. I'll keep you/ya'll updated when I hear back from him. He's usually slow to respond.

Thank you for the advice. :)

That's sounds a little strange about your chicks. Wonder if his gene pool is getting tight.

Me Too had a good amount of unfertlized eggs too. I will keep you posted and take pics tomorrow of all birds.Including my first one that will wind up on the table. It's a Bresse roo 5 1/2 months old he's hudge for a heritage breed but main purpose is meat even though they lay eggs. I have a couple roos and he has a floppy comb. so he's been on grain I'll add dariy for the next 2 weeks and then process.Pam
