Well, enough to move in the free rangers in. I have to cut chicken doors and move the fences for the other ones, but I have to get caught up on my office work first. I've spent too much time out of my office while building this.

Good morning! I have a question. One of my white leghorn had blood on her head yesterday and after checking it out I found that her comb was cut in half on the back part of the comb. Now the flock had gotten startled when my husband made a loud noise by their coop and had piled up together in a corner furthest from the noise. I was assuming that the injury happened accidently at that time. I cleaned up the pullet, applied blu-kote to the area on the comb and after a short while when I was sure the bleeding g had stopped I placed her back with the flock. I walked back to the house to get my chair to watch them just in case I needed to remove her again. When I got back, there was blood splatter on the walk into the coop. I located her and sure enough I observed two of the other pullets pulling at her comb causing it to bleed again. I removed her, cleaned her and have her isolated in a cage in my garage. Whew! Long winded, sry :) The question is, can a chicken be reintroduced after being targeted by the other chickens? Or should I possibly be focusing on trying to rehome her?

When the hens were picking at my roo's comb I put him in a dog crate on the porch so they could see him, but not get to him. He stayed several days and then reintegrated without any problems.
 
Im with Campingshaws, slow down the reinto if u can, and let the baby heal a little bit, your trying hard to do it right so better take the extra step. Congrats Jamco, and Lakones great job! Im trying to keep up but its been pretty busy around here. My turkeys are growin up and we began their permanent home yesterday. I scored 75 ft of 6 ft tall chain link for 40$ so it will be alot of space for my three poults but thats good for em :) 20' x 20' with a 5' x 7' coop. All recycled materials too :)

Also: incubator is set w my first clutch of pekin duck :D i have a plan for a shed brooder system, so i plan to be able to hatch until late fall in that,with only a few

Also: been n the pool gaining a tan :D

Thanks, campingshaws & turk! I will place the cage within eyesight of the rest of the chickens but keep out of reach of their beaks. When healed I will try to intergrate her back in with the flock.
