Yes, I do sell hatching eggs. Right now the only ones I'm sure are full blooded are some Isbars, white Bress. When slow season hits I let them free range together. I have separated them now and waiting three more weeks before selling to make sure they pure breeds before selling. If I get enough orders in Baton Rouge area I don't mind taking a drive.

I won't be able to get any hatching eggs before the middle of October so I definitely don't mind waiting. What time of the year do you consider too late to hatch eggs? I can keep chicks inside until about 2 mos but then they would have to go outside. Would like to hatch out some of your gentle friendly birds you have talked about.

We really don't have a two late time if you keep them in a brooder with heat lamp for the first two weeks. Then have somewhere covered to keep them if it freezes. If we don't have a hard winter you can put them outside as soon as they feather out. Several of my breeds are gentle. i don't care for aggressive Breeds. I do have one where the hen is feisty with her flock mates but not with me.I had chicks all last winter now they are ready to start laying. Pam

Hi. I'm in Shreveport! I don't get on BYC much these days, but would like to try to start visiting more frequently. Lol. I've had several different breeds and mixes of chickens since 2008, but am now focused solely on getting lots of big beautiful eggs.I'd like to make my own SBEL strain that is very hardy and heat resistant for our climate & mosquito issues here. My very favorite due to awesome personality & broodiness is the Cochin, both standards and bantams, but as we know they aren't much for laying, lol. I will ptobably always have just a couple of them around as well though.Anyway, just wanted to say hello!

Hey all. On mosquitoes we have been making sure we have no standing water. That only does so much though. I finally grabbed a bottle of mosquito fogger and hit the fence line with it. That helps knock back the population for a little while anyway. We got hit with fowl pox here too. None of the older hens got it if course, they are all immune for a few years now. But most of my juvies got a few spots. Not bad, and they recovered. The small chicks though have a harder time with it and I've had to cull some. I found vaccine at Petrus though. So my last 16 incubator chicks were vaccinated and have a broody. Do hopefully that will do the trick. They just need to at least be bigger so they can handle it. Hi everyone, I have been busy I will get your PM,'s answered shortly. I'm changing my Baton Rouge trip to either Monday or We'd. Of next week. Primrose I have the following breeds that will fit your needs CCL, Isbars, light Sussex, Biefelders. All have sweet temperaments the first two are on the smaller end of LF. First year eggs are med. and grow to large. One has blue and the other green eggs. The latter two lay large brown eggs that can get to jumbo as they get older. The Biefelders lay four to six eggs a week. The Sussex aren't laying yet so you would gave to go by what they say on the breed page.

I have the following birds for sale. I'd be willing to bring them with be next week. If your able to meet me at Southern Pottery or on my way etc. Black Isbars, a juvenile pair of savrt honas, a juvenile pair of east freison gulls,one pair of Lemon coukoo Niederrheiners at pol. Pair of sumalters Red Black breasted, I have extra roosters in the following breeds FBC marens Bev Davis line, Isbars Ggf lines, Legbars Jill Rees line, Biefelders GGF lines 2013 Import, Sumalters, Orsuk, I think that's it. Hey! My hennies aren't laying enough to sell eggs. My Sister will have eggs available in about a week. Her birds have been on antibiotics and will be off them soon. She would be a good source.
