"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I made a short video of my flock the other day.

Get a good look at those guineas, Cody! At the end of the video they're all bunched around their "mama." She adopted them when I let them out for the first time.

So cute! My ole man is lovin your polish :lau

Thanks. She's a sweet, goofy little thing.

Do you know i looked them up? Its a styro ur reccomending? Check this out, ive been watching it near you

As just a dedicated hatcher i think it would be spot on. On the other hand it wouldnt be very easy to clean, and theres no way to do anything other than manually turn.

This is the runner up... Cheep ;) includes a turner, pretty easily cleaned entirly to sterile...

Theres also quite a few good cabniet bators out there. Im really only dreaming...

Wasn't really recommending this one just saying for someone just. Starting it's a cheep alternative . You can get liners for styro bators. If I was to use one or anyone else I would invest in liners. Use ones or a few times then toss. So they stay clean. Wish the one in Slidell had a turner I would go for that. I would love another breinsea if you come across one. Thanks Pam

Ive been thinking about that one in slidell for a month now lol! Its a great deal, i would love it, but i Just got one, Lol! Really the serious hatcher, such as yourself should consider it as a stand alone hatcher, for staggerd incubation.

If it had a turner I could buy I would. Between my flock( around 100), my 2 GSD's, chicks, this business and our masonry business, starting our pottery studio well I have no time to hand turn. I need a nap after just wrighting it all down. We're in transition from Masonry to chickens and pottery as our retirement gigs for extra income. :th

Your such an active woman! Fingers in everything! I have to hand turn right now, and i have to right down when i did as well as having an alarm set To do It :gig

Im afraid im not making myself clear, what im reffering to is the use of a seperate machine that doesnt turn, for the last three days of incubation, and the Hatch. When the eggs shouldnt be turned. That way you could set 10 eggs, and then on day 18 move them to the hatcher. Setting smaller clutchs, 10 or so, would mean you could then Add ten one week from the initial set and continue, until you hatch every week... The hatcher means you can hatch without bumping the humidity in the main bator during the later eggs incubation, comprimising their growth rates.

Have i told yall im nuts?

Turk, that is where a Dickeys 2x2 incubator/hatcher comes in handy. You can do staggered hatches setting a clutch of eggs on 7 or 14 day cycles. So you can hatch and incubate at the same time. I have a third clutch getting ready to hatch tonight. It's been going for about a month and a half. Sorry if I 've showed you this before.

Wow, y'all are some hatching peeps!

How much are y'all charging for eggs? I've been charging $3/doz but I see other folks around here doing $4 and $5/doz. I'm not organic, but neither are they.

I've been setting Bielefelder eggs from my flock and am having terrible fertility. That's why I've had the bator running for so long. Been trying to get enough chicks together for my uncle.
I usually give my eggs away to one of my sisters. My birds have been stingy lately and don't really have enough to be selling.
