I made a short video of my flock the other day.
Get a good look at those guineas, Cody! At the end of the video they're all bunched around their "mama."She adopted them when I let them out for the first time.
Hey there Camping, that ole Lavender Orp is at it again, Donna's going to give her the 5 from her pen and add a few extra for her to hatch, not that we need the chicks but what the haym she wont lay anyway till she gets her way![]()

I am sorry to hear your parents are not doing very well and about your decision to give up ur chickens. It would be hard for me to give mine up but family does indeed come first. And when what used to bring you joy turns into a burden, keeping you from what you need to do, well, its time to give it up. Hope everything works out well in the end.OK I have the decision to rehome all of my chickens. My folks are in their mid-80s & not the best of health & need more of my time & care (for those that don't know, I'm an only child & no kids of my own) & I am involved in training Zipper & I simply don't have the time or desire to invest in the birds anymore.
I have the following available:
3 heritage Rhode Island Red hens, will be 1 year old in January, nice dark mahoghany color & laying.
1 scraggly old black Ameracauna - she is a cross-beak, which has never affected her, & about 4-5 years old & still lays a pretty blue egg.
7 chicks approaching 3 months of age -- 3 of them are RIRs hatched from the above hens, 3 of them are RIR/Ameracauna cross hatched from the hen above & 1 is a Black Copper Marans (which unfortunately I think is a roo - it was from some shipped eggs & the only one that hatched).
I also have a couple of waterers, feeder, assorted small feeder/waterers for chicks, 2 large plastic bins that hold 50# of feed each, a Brinsea Octagon incubator & 2 old Hovnabators that may or may not still work (I was using them for hatchers).
Make me an offer. Would prefer to sell everything as one package deal.
The coop & fencing will be torn down so if anybody is interested in doing that for salvage, let me know. The plywood in the coop is not in great shape anymore but the tin roof & posts are still good, there are parts on the chicken tractor that can be salvaged & the fence is 6' wire & a couple of wire gates. We have a burn pile not 50' away where the scraps can be hauled.
