"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I just candled my eggs 4 out of 25 didn't develope. So 21 eggs are alive and look good. I bought a 500 lumens flashlight so I'm no longer candeling challenged. l will go see who wanted chicks from this hatch but start thinking how many you want. They hatch in 5 days. I'm excited every time they hatch! Pam

I got to meet lovely Terri and her gorgeous flock yesterday! Sorry for not posting last night, I was worn out after getting everyone tucked in.

Here are the babies in their playpen!

Easy is SO IN LOVE with these pretty red girls. :love I helped this one down from the loft. Sometimes it takes them awhile to figure out the ramp.

I'm so happy you are pleased with them. Sorry for acting dumb & breaking down when you left; this is the end of a chapter for me & it was hard, but I am so glad they went to you - and Mom was OK with it when I told her about you & the camp & the kids, so it's a win-win for all of us. Mom has not been able to walk back there & see them all year She went outside at 3 a.m. this morning w/Casi, their dog, & slipped & fell - but didn't break anything, thank you God! I have to convince her to use her cane or walker now.

So sorry to hear that. :( And it wasn't dumb at all. It made total sense to me. :hugs Yes they are so loved already! The whole way home the kids talked about what to name them and which is their favorite.

Hopefully it will be good, but I don't know. I've been cooking with the cuckoo eggs this week and fertility has been hit and miss best I can tell. The roo is active, but maybe not all of the girls are interested.

Well! It went great! Jus finally finished, took 30 mins to get all those eggs, and it was nerve racking!

I only pulled one clear! It was a CM and i thibk there is one clear FBCM but i may just not be able to see anything clearly enough, its one of the two speckled :) a few of the eggs are super pourous, but not a majority. Pourous eggs can sometimes be a problem because they loos the water cotent too easily if incubated at too low of humidity.

I also marked the aircells so i can monitor the loss visually as well as by weight. Your BCM throw some enouromus eggs, eh?! I measured one at a whoppin 75 g's! The flashlight did better than i thought it would, i could see better in the CM than i can my own EEs! So, 48, possibly 49 eggs are developing :D

Id like to add that i think its important to share this sorta stuff, it speaks very highly of your flocks! Both Mrs Pam and Lakones obviously give their flocks alota love! Im very happy to work with these wonderful ladies!
