"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey guys and gals, I'm back.  As some of you know that I've taken time off since the death of my daughter Aimee to heal and deal.  Ready for chickens now.  Pam, I've been thinking of you.  Hope you're doing great.  We must talk.  Trying to remember who of our buddies cut up the frozen turkey with the chain saw.  Remember?  Heh heh :gig

Hi, Linda, so sry about your daughters passing, but it is good to hear that you are moving forward. My Mom died last year in July and not a day goes by that i dont think of her and miss hearing her voice. But on a lighter note, I want to hear more about the chain saw and the frozen turkey.:)

Wish I was ready for more now! I am waiting till I get my young girls in their coop and settled before I take on anymore chicks.

I lost my Dad last March sucks doesn't it. I'll see it I can find it and post it. Pam

Couldn't find the frozen turkey but I will look one more place. I started my new hatch I'll have orust,Svart honas,A couple of isbars and a few gulls. Testing for fertility and hoping for poulets so I can sell extra roos. I have 3 culls. One sissor beak, and two have yellow leggs but are still speckled. If anyone wants the yellow legs let me know. They aren't for breeding orust. If you want to use them for anyother reason PM me.I'm excited to hatch again. I will also have hatching eggs for these breeds. Others will be availble in a couple of weeks. Pam

Hi fellow Louisiana layer peeps. I'm in Hammond, La. Thanks Pam and others who welcomed me, in older posts.
I have a mixed flock. I'll share more about them, later but am looking for a Sulmtaler rooster for my 3 hens. By the way... Sulmtalers are so are big...is it normal for mine to lay small cream/white eggs? I may hatch some mixed to butcher/process...be interesting since a big Silkie mixed rooster is their favorite companion! I would like to be able to hatch pure chicks because i heard the Sulmtaler is the best tasting chicken then I heard Breese! Maybe need some Breese, now
!
I have really enjoyed my birds the past 3 years....hard to believe that they have so much personality and are so fun!

Oh, i hand-raised a peacock. ..thought it was hen but now I'll need to find him new home or hurry to get some young gals to raise with him. He's about 5 months old and I am concerned he could hurt my hens, whenever he is ready to actually try to breed. His first dance was ridiculous. ...displaying for my tiniest 1/2 Serama, 1/2 Silkie chick, who couldn't of been less impressed. Thankfully, he has not yet jumped anyone!

I have the red black brested sulmtaler roosters. They were headed to freezer camp this weekend so your timing is great. I have white Bresse too, You might want to look at the barbezaux They are up there with the Bresse as best tasting but they are a roasting bird while breese are better for poaching/ stewing. I'm in slidell so fairly close I have a few hens if you are intrested.I just started a hatch but my next one will be Marens Breese and Barbs. The Bresse are better egg layers as far as size and amount. Pam
