"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey Pam! :frow I was in New Orleans Monday and Tuesday. I talked about coming by but just didn't have time. I had the kids and five camp staff with me. Would've loved to visit.

Would have loved to see you and meet you staff. Maybe next time. Pam

We've talked about going back in August. I'll let you know for sure. :D

What is a dyna trap? I am not familiar with that...

It uses a light to attract bugs. Has a fan that sucks them into a screened area where they die from dehydration . Pam

What size do you use? I have the small one on top of a brooder, but I want to get the bigger ones.

I have the bigger one. I have one by the pool house so we can enjoy outside. And the other close to the chicken area. So far so good no pox . In the past we had a mosquito magnet. It worked really well but cost a lot more. It lasted two seasons for the money it should last at least five years. Plus you had to buy attractant and propane. I like this one better cost less nothing else to buy except the little bit of electric. The rebate from cleco covered the cost of both traps with money left over.

Where'd you get it? Brand?

Hey y'all. :frow I'm still here! :highfive:

It's been a tough summer for chicks. No predators, just dumb oversight. I lost all of my babies from Pam when I went to Houston and my farm helper didn't open the loft for them. Not all the babies died, just the rare ones. All my mutt mixes survived. :(

I've lost handfuls here or there because they hatched weak or got hot. I can't remember the total count, but I think it was 8 last week and 5 or do a few weeks ago.

Anyway, camp is going well. The farm is good too. My nanny goat Roxie birthed twins last Tuesday, they're super cute.

I've got a million extra roos, if anyone needs a few. I have some hona culls and some that I was raising to process but I don't have time right now. I also have some cool breeds from Sally Sunshine: two sapphire roolets, a crested cuckoo marans OE, and another barred OE? One has clean legs, one has feathered legs. Then I have a cute blue cochin mix, a few polish mixes, and lots of EE/HRIR mixed babies. I'm cockerel poor.

Hope everyone is well. Y'all stay cool. :)

Does anybody close to houma need a Turken mix Cochin rooster I have 1 free to good home he's 3 months old and black and white

I'm so sorry to here you lost all those birds that's had to swallow. Hope fully things will get better. Pam

This summer has been super busy (not to mention hot!!!), but I'm starting to get back in the swing of things again. I've spent most of the summer remoldeling the house and taking care of family. My little one will be 7 next mouth so I cherish all the time I have with her!!! She has been with me every step of the way, including staying with grandma after surgery. She would not lay down until she got grandma tucked into bed for the night. So sweet!

I'd like to say a special thanks to Turk for taking care of my chickens last week while we were on vacation. It was super nice to not have to worry about my flock while I was gone, they were well taken care of!
