Hello everyone, it's been a while. I see a few are still here, hope everyone is doing well. I hatched a few coo coo marans a couple weeks ago, I have a few American breese in the bator now. I still have all my gamefowl, just wanted a few full time layers.

12 have hatched so far. I have two Neiddirhinders. Hope they are hens. Still time for a few more to hatch. I have FBC Marens chicks for sale. Message me if interested. Pam

We are looking at buying a house in Lacombe LA. Does anyone know what if any restrictions there are for chickens in Lacombe/St Tammany parish?

I'm trying not to learn the hard way, but seems I am learning that way. Guess every situation is different.

Had a not so fun experience last night during the bad weather. Our newly build run was flooding, so me & husband had to get out and rescue the chicks, then try to get things to drain. About an hour later, things were draining nicely.

Checked on chicks this morning, because we had to put them in coop with 3 grown Rhode Island Red Bantams and they were all alive. We separated them back into their sections in the run. I'll check them later today to make sure no one was injured during the night.

I'm starting to wonder what I was thinking when I decided to keep chickens

Keep your head up, it's a ton of fun, and you obviously care about them all ready. There are bumps on every road worth taking. :)
We are glad to have you here.
