Hi, everyone! I haven’t been to this board in several years because I had a surprise caboose baby and sold my flocks. I was seriously breeding at the time, primarily BLRWs. I cut back to a few Sebastopol geese, but now my daughter is old enough to help and get involved. It’s so strange - most of the people I knew in the poultry world are no longer involved and I had a really tough time finding any birds. I was fortunate that the gentleman who bought some of my BLRWs still has them and was able to get a quad from him. I’m still looking for a few more healthy pullets for layers if anyone has some within a reasonable distance of Baton Rouge. I am working from home and teaching preK lessons to my girl. The chickens give us something to stay busy with outside. Either way - I’m happy I found my way back here. This board was always frequented by good people. Hello to you all!

Hello and welcome back. I too have been out for a bit. Those grand babies keep me busy. I added some girls to my flock that hatched 12/2. Still no eggs yet but hopefully soon. I have one I am the ting to identify. Any ideas? She is absolutely beautiful and quite timid compared to the ADD Blue Andalusian i also have. Received from Meyers hatchery and it’s a guessing game. The other four I know.

Someone just posted asking about a Blue Barred Rock from Meyers. It’s a BA x BR if I remember right. Could that be your bird?

It would be nice if we could keep it going. I got into chickens six/seven years ago with my wife, got divorced, had to move into an apartment, finally bought my own land, now I’m back into chickens again for the long haul. :D
I have 15 laying hens(EE, white Leghorns, Production Blue, Speckled Sussex, FBCM and one EE cockerel)
I have five Welsummer and a cockerel, three more WL, and one Blue and two Black Ameraucanas in the brooder now. Come July I’m going to overrun with eggs! :D

This was my fb too!

I havent had much time lately tis the busy season but i too still have a few connections with people i met on here years ago :love
