Do any of you plant grass for the winter? If so, what kind of grass? My chickens are eating the grass that has now turned brown, but they much rather eat from the garden. Who can blame them? Maybe if I plant something for them, my veggies will be safer.

Yeah,,. the would if I let em,.. we throw up some poultry netting with a few stakes to keep them from half until it's up a bit then do the other half,. then, when it's all up an inch or two,. roll the fencing back up..

they are in the backyard today (AKA the people yard) because the clover is growing there right now,.

It's been sooo muddy in the chicken yard that we are going to put more dirt in in the spring and I will lay down some cheaper grade C sod and over seed it with clover there too.
