I have not been posting too much either. I"m so tired. With Spring time here and girls going broody, egg production up and customers wanting more and more eggs, it is so hard to get everything done.

I'm not organized! I just have the sort of job that runs in fits and starts. I'm either twiddling my thumbs doing nothing or else swamped up to my ears in estimates & paperwork! It drives me crazy when it's slow because I think of all that I could be getting accomplished at home.

Not too far. I am between Kentwood and Franklinton.
No garden work today. Going to wait and see if we get the
rain they are saying we are supposed to get first. Did get
the pond partially stocked today though. Got the bream put in today.
Gotta give them a while to grow and then will be putting in Florida strain largemouth
bass.

O WOW -- my dream is to have a pond! First I need to win the lottery though....

Terri, I just PM'ed you that guy's information about the guineas. Sorry that I am so late getting it to you. It slipped my mind. Old age I guess.

Thanks Julie, got it! now do I really want to tackle keeping guineas again?

PM'd you back Yvette -- now that is an amazing coincidence!

I'm re-thinking the guinea thing as well. What in the world do I need 30 more birds for? More feed, more time in the yard, more NOISE!!

We have 6 chicks pipping all at one time,. ALL ON the BOTTOM!

DD is a broody hen over that bator,. she's only 16 but knows her stuff and is good at hatching,. but she just had her first bad hatch yesterday and so is a nervous wreck about these,. poor thing,. there's nothing we can do,. temp in good ,. humidity is good,. but it never rained like they said so it's very dry in the house ,.. opening that bator would be disasterous!

Is guinea math at work at Julie's and Terri Ann's

Mine too!! And I get so PO'ed with these people that say they'll dig your pond for dirt! They always say we'll call you back when we're in the area working and they never do!!

Here's the hen that lays the chocolaty chocolate egg:

Perhaps one of you can identify it. Her eggs are sometimes lighter, but usually very dark.
Freezin' my tukas off over here.
