"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'm afraid that with everyone relying so heavily on email these days -- the snail mail will be obsolete before long. I was upset a couple weeks ago at the suggestion of not printing books anymore. I like reading email, forums, and news online but I can't get adjusted to reading chapter books electronically.

I hear you. I like holding a real book in my hands, and a real newspaper too. Don't know if I can get into Kindle or not.

O no, just heard about the Norfolk eagle -- the Mom eagle was killed -- I am crying my eyes out...I've watched them every day...I hope they take the eaglets & raise them if the male doesn't return to the nest.

She raised a lot of fine eaglets over the years. They live on in her. What a magnificent bird and what a devastating tragedy...

No more poopy waterers in the brooder. Here's my new creation to water the baby chicks. The best part about it is that I can put fresh water from the outside of the cage. I love it! The chicks have quickly adapted to using it too.

The chicks quickly learned how to get water from the nipples.

I think I may need more nipples -- chicken nipples, that is!

BTW, these are my Sussex chicks in the brooder.

Ha! Finally figured it out!

I hope everyone came through the storm last night unscathed. I actually woke up around 5:30 and was worried about my chickens because... I finally finished my coop this past weekend!! Just in time to test out how weather-proofed it is.

Here are a few pics (I know there are more somewhere, I'm just too lazy to look for them

I found this spot one of the walls before I painted it and had to snap a pic. Anyone else see what I see?

Here's a pic of the frame before any walls were attached.

Here's the finished coop. I'm so glad it's finally finished!

And my happy girls enjoying their run.

Cajun Magnolia, love your coop! & yes, I see the red rooster too! Kind of significant!

Grambys love your chick water set up -- that is some real ingenuity! Looks like you have one rooster for sure in that last pic.

Hope everybody has a nice day. Things are slow at work here, so doing some cleanup & straightening of literature, etc.
