Twiley the geese are just beautiful!!! and I sure wish you'd stop posting the cute videos - you are such an enabler! almost as bad as Mike! You know I'll find a way to get fencing up & buy some eggs or goslings from you next year - hey, want to trade for peachicks next year?! Put me on your list!
Do I see a future where all of the La-yers are trading & buying & selling back & forth from ea other?

I took the afternoon off from work & have almond biscotti cooling on racks, a chicken bubbling in the pot for chicken & dumplings tonight, & my headache from hell is gone thank goodness - it was just stress, no kidding, talking w/the boss over closing down the company, it's sad after nine years there, but -- time to move on & do other things.

Amazing how just coming home & letting the chickens out, & from my kitchen & dining room windows I can see them moseying about, that is so calming. LOTS better than a fish tank -- when I had an aquarium I was always stressing over the algae in it.

I'm a Louisiananananananan... live Uptown in New Orleans, right off
St. Charles. Blessed with a big yard, or big enough.

Any special issues raising chickens/ducks in the deep South?
I'm getting 3 Buff Op chicks and 3 Pekin ducks... I may have
over bought for 750sq.ft...

Anyway, any special Louisiana issues I should be aware of?

-Pete

Someone from the Sebastopol forums whom I consider to be an "expert" has corrected me on the "splash lavendar". She doesn't think that there is such a thing as a splash lavendar and instead thinks that these may turn out to be solid lavendars instead. We'll continue to watch their coloring to see how they shape up.
