Quick HI here - swamped at work. My Winnie is doing good following her surgery, of course she is full of stitches & has to wear an inflatable
e-collar when in her crate & has to be carried everywhere, - it's a small price to pay!

I'll have to read back later & catch up - right now have to close out the month!

Crows, please don't say the "C" word. Crows are out and are full of mischief these days. My turkeys whooped up on a crow 2 days ago and he flew off with his tail between his legs.

I DROVE!!
I felt so good yesterday,. I drove 40 miles to Ponchatoula Feed & Seed,..and we got supplies and,... chicks! We had a broody hen hatch out one single BCM chick and then she was a bad Mama,.. so we brought it i the house,.. and it was just tooo lonley,.. so we HAD to get a couple of chicks,. anyway,. the guy there was pushing these cute Polish chicks that they just couldn't sell and even said he would give me a deal on,. well,.. I have no use for them myself,.. but they were sooo cute,. I got one for my neighbor that likes " pretty chickens" ,..

She was sooo happy,. she may go get more! I found out that a hawk took her favorite hen last week and she had been wanting a new bird.
It all worked out.
Now I'm back in bed and DH says he may take away the keys till I have DR's OK to drive,.. but it was worth it!

Julie,.. I have been wondering about those same folks as well,.. Paisaneaux was becoming such a "Hatchaholic",.. I wonder if he's too overrun with babies to post....

Terri Ann,.. DD asked me 3 times if Winnie was OK,.. she has gotten addicted to the thread since she has been reading them to me,.. I may have to sign her up with her own name.,.. so I will give her the good news that Winnie is doing well!

Julie,.. we've been using the fly traps and they are working great,.. Thanks for suggesting

Is it just us or do ya'll find the flies much worse than usual?

I personally would have relocated the nasty critter far out into woods, but the dh has a "the only good snake is a dead snake policy" so he dispatched it before I got there. I think I'm much more grossed out by that giant rat than the snake.

We have been using those fly traps too, and it has helped a lot. They were REALLY bad this spring.
