I wouldn't let a good laying hen go for anything less than $15, and that would be for one of my mutts! Of course we all make exceptions for our friends and stuff, but come on people! They must forget that you have to feed, water, and house a birds for at least 6 months before they start laying.
Room and board is not free! I guess we need to film a news special on how much time, money, and effort go into our birds. Oh did I mention how much money? I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July. I have some homemade chicken and vegetable soup on the stove and am going to sit back and relax for the evening.
Thank you ma'am!! I'm glad that you said that. That is the same thing that I told this one guy. I quoted him a price of $15.00 and his eyes got real big. And I definitely agree with you in that for people that I know (friends, etc.) I always sell to them at a lower price. But someone that I don't know, well it's full price. Some people......
HOMEMADE chicken and vegetable soup? Now that sounds delicious. Is it one of your processed birds? I was thinking about homemade chicken pot pie. Now you have me thinking. YUMMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, how is the duck pen coming along? Did ya'll work on it any today?
Progress on the duck pen will have to wait until next weekend. I have too much to do right now! Testing and getting in shape for the new job, still working at the old job, keeping up with the house and animals
Thank God we don't have children yet!
And I wish the soup was from our processed birds. All mine are barely big enough to make a decent size chicken nugget right now! That is ok though. Next year I will be able to make this soup using nothing but homegrown produce
I just have to get all this stuff out of the way first. Just have to keep grinding on!
