Plus I have five eggs in a carton on the kitchen counter that I will put setting this friday with whatever I collect the rest of the week.
Got to put that new brooder to work, well finish it first not much left though and start on the grow out pen.

With all of those eggs waiting to hatch, you will have to begin another chicken project. It's time to start building AGAIN.

Good morning. I'm so sorry to hear what's going on with your birds. Are you NPIP certified? If so, you can call the state vet for your area and they will come out and do testing. Even if you are not NPIP certified, you can still call them and they can direct you better on how to proceed. You also may want to ask them if there is any outbreak of any diseases in your area. You will need to know that. Testing will be the only way to determine what is going on.

In the meantime, can you please tell me specifically exactly what symptoms your birds have. How many birds do you have and how many have died so far? How long has this been going on? When did it start? Did you introduce any new birds to your flock without quarantining the new birds? What does the poop look like?

Let's try to find out what's wrong or point you in the right direction.

Alas, I'm sorry about your sick chickens. I'm sorry I can't help you but Kuntrygirl and a few others on here are good at solving problems. I hope you get it figured out. Let us know when you find out what it is so that we may learn from your experience.

Am I the only one who plays in their chicken's poo?

If anyone needs to have poop testing done on their chickens, send me a sample. I have my own little lab set up in one of my extra rooms. I have a DELUXE microscope that someone from Craiglist gave me. They were at a Lab Supervisor at a VERY well know STATE LAB. ssshhhhhhhhh. Now, I'm studying how to read blood samples from the slides. That may take a little while longer.

Congrats on the eggs! I've hatched too many for the coops I have and need to start shedding some birds.

I have a trio of Light Sussex/Coronation Sussex split youngsters that I am planning to sell. I also have extra Silver Sussex cockerals that I will be selling. I could maybe part with a Silver Sussex pullet if you ask nicely.

If anyone is interested PM me.

Wow, Kuntrygirl! Your own lab. I'm impressed! I'll surely keep that in mind.
