I found out that theres a LSU Ag Center by me. I called and left a message for the guy I need to talk to there. Hoping maybe someone there can give me answers as to what it IS instead of what its NOT.

Is that where they took your birds?

No. They are driving the birds all the way to Houma to their testing facility. I'm hoping that maybe LSU has some type of testing program since they have college programs for stuff like this.

Oh no, I'm not speaking of you and you don't sound defensive at all. I hope that you didn't take my post the wrong way. I was just talking in general from reading other threads on BYC that other people post. I know you're not like that because you have been on this thread asking for help. I know that you are a VERY responsible owner as evident by your actions in trying to save your poor birds. You should be very proud of that. I hope that they can let you know what's going on, so you can get a handle on this.

Oh, that would be good if they have testing programs. Let us know what they say.

Alright, I changed the title.

OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!! What in the heck !?????????????????????????? Whiskey Bay, what is that??????????????? Bigfoot's bone????? WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!! Where did you find that dinosaur bone?

Well I did live close to 3o'clock bayou for a long time....lol.... I found it on another thread that they were talking about falling in the chicken coop and being eaten by starving chickens who hadn't eaten in 2 minutes....lol...

Alright peeps, I have a couple of questions this morning!

1.) One of my laying hens has had a bald spot on the back of neck for a good 8 months now. It is probably 2 inches in diameter. There is no rooster in their pen, so that cannot be the culprit. They also have no mites or lice, so that can't be it either. Could it be possible that one of the other 3 hens are feather picking her? I just can't come up with an explanation! I will post a pic of it when I get home.

2.) Does anybody use a banding system of any kind to keep track of their birds?
