LOL @ Whiskey Bay posting this pic for Cadjien_De_Louisiane

I think your chicken looks like Phyllis Diller. What do ya'll think?

Phyllis!!! I think she might have actually been the inspiration for the whole thing?!!...lol...

The bald spot is most probly result of another hen picking her feathers.I've had a few hens do that.I have some barred rocks missing a few feathers from her picking them. Also my project bantam pen has a hen that likes to keep the feathers plucked on the roosters neck area.... Oyster shells and some grain usually stops them along with putting some blu kote on the picked area.
I use multi colored zipties from Harbor freight also. They have SO many colors...lol....Different hatches different colors...

I use several different types of antibiotics. It all depends on what you have acces to.Tylan 50 or 200 can be used in the breast. Or I use Enrofloxacin(Baytril). Either one I mix with Bcomplex to give them and extra boost of vitamins.1/2 antibiotic and 1/2 Bcomplex/b12.... shake it up then I use 1 cc of Tylan mix(or 1/2 cc of baytril mix). When I use injectable though I generally wont use soluble as it may counteract. Also put a few drops of VetRx down their throat and rub over their face and comb.check eyes for eyeworms.Body for mites.

It's rainig !!

I like that! How many eggs can it hold? I WANT ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol...I was running 3 of those and a hatcher...Now I'm down to running just one and the hatcher....

If you get eggs shipped during the hot times, and they are warm when delivered,go ahead and put them into the bator immediately, just dont put the turner on for a day or so.OR if you already have eggs in turning, simply put the new ones in a half carton on the bottem of the bator where it won't hit. This has been working very well for me so far.If the eggs are warm they may have already started, then you let them cool to room temp it may kill off the started embryo. You can order the yellow egg trays from cutlers and each one holds 30 eggs.It fits two trays per rack for a total of 6 tryas with a grand total of 180.Or more if you don't use trays and turn by hand.

It hasn't rained in weeks!
