Just wanted to check in...been quite awhile since I have been on these boards! We got our first eggs this week and they are from our Production Reds that we got at Tractor Supply back in March. They are a dark brown color and are just gorgeous! Out of 16 chicks that we started with this year..we have lost one...definitely have 2 golden laced polish roos....one Plymouth Barred Rock Roo(best temperment)...potentially 2 EE roos. The rest of our hens will hopefully start laying soon....we have 3 EE hens.....one golden laced polish hen, one silver laced polish hen, 2 production red hens(that are laying now), 2 Plymouth Barred Rock hens, and one mystery HUGE white hen....
Our first several months raising chickens has been so much fun....and we are just so thrilled now that we are getting eggs! I hope to post some pics soon...but we have been so busy around here with horse camps at our farm among other things!

Thank yall, my birthday is torrow the 15th. Haven't decide where I want to go eat yet thinking maybie D.I.'s Cajun Restaurant in Basile, I love that place good food good music.
