Awesome! I do use my passion flowers! It's a great sedative and nerve tonic,.. I grind it up in the Magic Bullet after drying and use it as a tea. I like to combine it with Skullcap and Valerian for a super relaxing tonic and sleep aid and it's also great for my heart. I give it to the flock in times of stress to mellow them out a bit,..sadly,..I no longer have Valerian,.. the little druggies got to my patch in the garden and ate it to the ground! I swear they were smiling all day!
I am really interested in how palatable the fig leaf tea is,.. I have access to an organically managed Brown Turkey fig tree,.. If it's not tasty,. I Dr. it up with Spearmint!
Well, I've just had my first passionflower tea/infusion. I took one big (fresh) flower and steeped it for a while. The flower turned white, the water green! Not very tasty, but mild enough.
Cool! I use the leaves too,. I'm telling ya ,. that spearmint makes everything taste good, even passion flower,... and it's good for the digestion,..I actually buy it in bulk,. I have it all over the yard but I think what I buy tastes better(
http://www.bulkherbstore.com/ ) I've used it forever and mixed it with peppermint for a tea to stop nausea ,..
So one day my niece said her tummy hurt and asked me for some "nauseated" tea,..
Don't ya just have to laugh when non chicken friends and family come for a visit,.. some of the things they say just crack me up,...
