Good luck with your hatch! What to do with all the chicks -- grow them out, keep the best, sell what you can, and eat the rest.

I'm at the grow out stage with mine. I did give 50 chicks/chickens to a friend because I had too many and he had too few.

Now, I'm juggling what I have to figure out which are roosters vs. hens. I will keep a couple of nice roosters of each variety and eat the rest. Of the hens, I'll keep a few of the best of each breed and then offer up the rest for sale. In any case, it is lots of fun. I have enjoyed working with my hatched chicks this spring/summer as I choose my flock for next spring.

Kuntrygirl, it's a good thing that you're very patient. I would have probably already bagged that rabbit thinking, "I'd rather eat the rabbit rather than feed it to a coyote". I'm surprised that he's survived for this long on his own. I hope you can catch him soon.

Yea, I'm trying to work with the little guy because I really do like him and I know he is only doing what is rabbit is supposed to do and also because it was my fault that I didn't secure his hutch. It's not his fault. So, I will continue to try to catch him.

Blasphemy? Why is it blasphemy? I can't use him for breeding, he's ugly as sin because his wings look like airplane wings (serious angel wings), he's not friendly, I can't sell him, and he's not right in the head. I have no use for him and don't want to feed him forever. Geese can live to be 20+ years. Besides, haven't you ever heard of "Christmas Goose"? Ok, maybe I'll eat turkey for Thanksgiving and goose for Christmas.
