I have managed to sell most of my birds now. I regained my sanity just in time to keep myself from selling 8 of my laying hens
I only need to rehome 4 roos (3 black silkies and a mottled houdan) and I'll be done. My daughter decided she wants to raise and show bantam spangled russian orloffs, so I have eggs on order from two different breeders. These will be kept in coops and runs though. I'm looking forward to a back patio that isnt covered in chicken poop.
Hope everyone has been doing well (I'm still trying to back-read all I've missed the last couple of weeks). We're getting ready for another year of homeschool here. My "baby" is starting 9th grade We're going to learn Italian this year. Her elective is going to be botany, which I dont know much about, so I guess I'm going to learn it too. I'll manage to fit it in somewhere during my studying for my Masters degree, I hope. As much as I hate cold weather, I am looking forward to that lull in things, when there's no garden to weed or harvest. No grass to cut. And plenty of extra time to read
Has anyone on here ever had problems with a BYC seller? One of the people I ordered from was supposed to ship out last Monday and still has not. I've emailed her several times and gotten no answer as to why the delay. Then, this Monday she said her ink cartridge ran out for the shipping label and she had to go pick up another. This morning I emailed her to ask if they had been sent and I've gotten no response. I hate to leave a bad rating and throw a fuss, but I feel like she could be a bit more communicative if she's having problems. I ordered from her because the feedback she had was positive. I hate to ruin that for her, but its been a week and a half now. What would you guys do? Should I be nice about it or demand my money back and report it or anything in between?
Sorry but I don't know. Can you feed dog food to chickens? I know my chickens love cat food but I'm not sure about dog food.
Hey there La-yers been trying to get caught up on the last couple of days posts on here, man ya'll been gettin'er done on here, huh?
On the dog food for chicken feed. I reckon a small amount would be ok for a treat ever so often but not too much as the salt content is way too much for chickens as they have very delicate excretory systems thats for sure, they don't have sweat glands (pores) for the salt to escape from their systems so it all passes though their kidneys. do some checking up on it more before feeding it to you fowl for sure though.
Good idea on the info. central there too Kuntrygirl see I'm already adding stuff to put in it.
Because they're ignorant & don't understand the concept of farming without 9 million chemicals. Don't get me started; I've been fighting this battle here for years - which is why I have my own Crazy Lady reputation - (hey if the shoe fits....)!

Wow, Italian? that's wonderful! I wish I could take lessons! I'm Sicilian & working on getting my dual citizenship.
Never had any problems here w/BYC sellers but there's always a first time -- maybe contact one of the mods? & for sure leave feedback on your problems! and yes, I'd want my money back.
