The goosander? I'm confused! Isn't this the one you got from Me (Cottage Rose)? Or, is this the other one you hatched? In any case, yes, it looks like a sebbie to me. It looks like a blue or gray splash. I can't see the color very well from a distance but it looks like it's blue which is why I thought you were asking if it was a goose or a gander. I assumed it was the gander that came from Me/Cottage Rose. It is smooth breasted which means that the breast will be smooth and the back and thighs will be curly although not as curly as the pics of the ganders I posted earlier.
You'll want to mark the one that came from Cottage Rose because she has excellent bloodlines. That little gander is carrying the blue color gene, and also the saddleback gene. On the two curly ganders that I'm sending your way you will also want to mark as they are Holderread bloodlines. You'll want to hold on to them until you can breed or buy something better. I think that these two guys will turn out to be some pretty nice ganders. I'm also curious as to what colors may be in their background. These two ganders are out of the geese that I picked up in Missouri. She had blue splash, gray, white, and lavendar in her flock, as well as gray, and buff saddleback. It'll be interesting to see what you get over the next few seasons.
No that pic is of the one I hatched and believe it will be blue also. It doesnt have the same coloring on the bill or feet and legs as the one from cottage rose. Its alot noisier too.
Today was its first day on the pond. The othor is getting really big now. I will post a new pic of it tommorrow.
And they are really good Roos so far like no peckin and they dont fight and only one has begun to crow and he only does it when the hubby gets up for work lol
