A guy I know took this picture about 2 miles from my house. I have had my cams out but havent caught a pic of anything since I let my pyrenees out on the property.
It would explain there being no tracks left and how something could take 5 grown turkey out of a 5 ft chain link pen in 1 night though.

Sounds like you have your hands full. How old are you chickens? Getting no eggs is not good.

What do you feed them?
How far are you from Opelousas?

The buffs and barred rocks were bought as chicks by my dad last december. He just called to ask where the roosters went and hung up on me when I told him they were thrown on the burn pile. They seriously didn't weigh even 5 pounds and were nothing but feathers and bones, but

Do you feed them or are they just fending for themselves. A 9 month old broiler cross should certainly weigh more than 5#s and to get eggs from hens they have to have a steady ration(routine feed time) of at least a minimum of 16% protein feed made available for when ever they feel like eating it (eggs and meat are expensive to produce) not just thrown about on the ground once daily. My neighbor (cousin) does this and wonders why she doesn't get many/if any eggs. She asks me all the time "are your hens laying good" I say, "yep, I feed mine 'good' ". She says hers don't lay any better on layer pellets than they do on chops or scratch and I tell her
"no not if you starve them on either one" they aren't gonna lay when it takes what little they get just to survive, much less produce. Eggs are an extra bonus from a well maintained flock, same with putting on meat on meat birds it takes protein. Scratch and chops only contain 8% protein and are loaded with carbs. 'bout of equal nutritional value of a Twinkie, and that's what its for is for extra treats not as the sole ration for a diet.

Well hello everyone I haven't got on since Friday, thats crazzy. I been busy. Alot of yard work this past weekend and build a couple more drop pens the usuall weekend project lol. I had two out of four game chicks hatch over the weekend and two more that should hatch with in a day or two. I will have to post a pic in a day or two of my 8 game bitties I let go in there new grow out pen, it came out pretty cool. Going good around here, back up to 30 birds now and growing. The maringouins are terrible, I guess they are just now hatching since the tropical storm rain water. I started my new job today I think Im really gonna like it, it was awesome to come home for lunch.
