"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

It is one of those things we pigeon breeders use , because of that quality . Now you can buy tobacco stems and pay a fortune ,and I'll guarantee you
won't have any bugs in your nest boxes . As far as soft , it as soft as hay in my opinion . My chooks don't mind sitting on it and they mind scattering
it about out of the boxes also . Someone said once ,that a broody hen didn't always go out to use the toilet , and the box could get messy and stinky . When
my Barred Rock was broody she never made a mess . I broke her by putting her in a good size wire carrying pen . Guess I will have to break this one as , there
are no fertile eggs to hatch . I might try to raise the Blue Red's , got a roo in that bunch , but his top thing isn't noticeable yet . The Buffs I raised ; it seemed
that roo's top thingy grew in two weeks . He was an accident . Sold him . The squabs are smaller than a chick when they are born , and the straw doesn't
hurt them . They are about a fourth the size of a newborn chick when they are born . They are so tiny and pink and their little eyes haven't opened yet and I
love to watch the Momma feed them . Nature is beautiful to watch . Especially with our birds .

Can you post some pics of your other kind of birds?? I would love to see them!!

Are pine needles and pine straw the same thing? Someone in my Yahoo duck group was talking about the pine needles that they use from their tree.

Thanks for the info on de-worming the peas Terri. I will be using the 4cc Valbazen in 1 gallon water today and change out every day.

Thanks again.

ETA: Terri, forgot to ask how many days do they have to drink the medicated water. I usually administer orally to the other animals, so mixing it in the water is new for me.

Thanks

Three days - I mix a fresh batch of water w/the meds in it every day for three days in a row.

So pine straw & pine needles are the same thing, right? I'll have to save what I rake up & try it out. I still have most of a bale of hay to use.

Chilly here this morning too, but at least we don't have to deal with snow on the ground!

I have to go pick up some mothballs at the dollar store to sprinkle in my front hedges; that might encourage the skunklets to move on.

Have a good Sunday everybody!

Thank you.

So mothballs will do the trick? Good to know.

I hope they Peppe Le Pew doesn't go back.
