I just got my flock cut back to a manageable 15 & here you are dangling bargains like that at me! And then threatening to post pigeon pics to boot! You know every time I see that club flock fly over, I wonder what it would be like to own & race them....

Seriously, no more additions for me at this time. I am planning on hatching every peacock egg I can get my hands on next spring & I need to enlarge the pea runs & add another coop to their main pen. But I thank you for your generous & kind offer! Somebody's going to get one heck of a bargain there!

OK off to put on a pot of soup & take down the fall decorations - time to get the Christmas stuff out! Have a good Sunday everybody!

Yes, Wilbur can you believe it!!

That is the smallest pig I've ever seen. What's the story behind it? Is it the runt? Did the mother reject it? You'll have a blast bottle feeding it. I hope you don't plan on raising it to butcher because once you've bottle fed it and raised it by hand you'll realize how much personality it has and you won't be able to kill it.

You might try listing them for sale on Craigslist. Or, take them down to your local salebarn. I recently took some of my chickens down to the auction and sold my pullets and hens for $14.00 - $16.00 each. I only got $5.00 for the roosters but at least I got rid of them.

I'm interested in your pigeons. Would love to get pigeons once I get moved and settled.

Terri, I can't wait to see what you hatch. I probably need to put my name down on your waiting list for peacocks. It'll be so much fun for you. I plan on doing the same with my geese.

Me too GLBRWyans, it has been feeling better and better everyday so that's good.

Rrrrrr stupid electricity went out about twenty minutes ago. I got eggs in the bator, that's about right. I have been drapping a hot towel over the top ever since. That's the only thing that I can think of to do.

Good morning everyone. Nice and wet and cold and messy outside.

Cute piglet Missi.

Steve, sir (lol) I hope you can sell all of those birds.

. I'm not looking forward to any new hatches any time soon. I'm enjoying the "Empty Nest" club right now. Laying and hatches will begin soon.

Nice pic Twiley but I have no idea who those people are. I have never heard of them. Sorry.

Terri, I'm sorry but I just read tons of posts that I'm just catching up on. Congrats on the new job.

Terri, I'm excited about the possibility of new peas as well. It's time to start building nesting boxes for the girls. The only thing that I'm worried about is all of the space in the aviary. If I do have little ones, I'm getting concerned that they will have too much room to roam around and something will happen to them. The nesting boxes will be on the inside of the aviary but they will have access to the uncovered run. I guess I need to come up with ideas on how to keep them safe and secure.

Gracie, sorry to hear about your rooster.

Back to work tomorrow. I have been off since Wednesday. I have to use a lot of vacation time before the end of the year, so I will be off a lot more during this time.

Have a good day everyone.

I'm surprised you don't have a generator. Sounds like you need to put that on your Christmas list. I hope everything works out.

! lol Never thought about taking them to a sale barn , I think Monroe still has one , Terri does Alex have one . See i fell victim to that chicken math that no one
told me about

. Craigslist , is that easy to do , I have never been on it let alone posted on it , is it sort of like Ebay where one has to pay a small percentage of sales ? I will soon
have a bunch of solid white homers for sale . They multiply like rabbits where as the fancier breeds are a little more difficult to raise , but I will have some Modenas for sale soon also
plus I am getting some LaHores from a man in California and they are beautiful , docile and friendly . I wish my Satinettes would give me more babies too . They are sweet little
birds , as ya'll know I hand raised two of those and they are pets not birds . Tell me more about Craigslist please ?

@ma'am Julie . lol My wife is a cradle robber .

No more local sale barn here Steve, sorry.
Craigslist is free. Go to craigslist.com for central Louisiana & sign up & it'll walk you through how to post your ad. You can even add pics if you want to. Just be careful what info you share, as there are a lot of scammers out there. For example, I never put my home phone or address for contact info, just an email & cell phone.

Julie even if I let the the peas hatch under a peahen or cochin or whatever, I'm still putting them immediately into a brooder off the ground. I've heard that's the best way to raise them the first couple months of their life, so we are building a very large brooder off the ground just for the peachicks. Also, I want to be able to handle them daily so they will be tame - I don't want to imprint them, but I do want them to be at friendly around people.

Cadjien hope the power outage ends soon & your eggs are OK! I have had that happen & even though the temps did drop very low like yours did, I wrapped a blanket around the incubator & in the end, had a good hatch in spite of all the trouble.

Getting nervous about starting the new job tomorrow, hope this one works out. I think it will, I liked the ladies I interviewed with, & furthermore, I am not the only new kid on the block as they also hired another bookkeeper so that helps. I just dread all the "getting to know you, know the system, learn the software" stuff. It's been a long time & I am no spring chicken anymore!

edit to add: Twiley of course you can be on my "peachick" list -- they are so much fun! maybe we can swap some peachicks for goslings!
