"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Wow talk about lightning & thunder & torrential rains here -- still coming down --- think we have some coop rebuilding to do now. Everything is a total mess out there! Backyard is a SWAMP!

Have a good one everybody, time to get ready to go to work here!

Ok, I woke up today and I don’t feel any different than I did yesterday. Yep not one bit different! Yesterday I’m happy to tell you all that I turned the big 4 - 5. So a-side from my back hurting a little this morning like it does every morning when I get up, my knees sore until I get moving somewhat and hit the HOT, HOT shower, my hip sore as old hell where I got kicked by a horse about 20 years ago and my collar bone, shoulder and neck hurting from an old motorcycle accident…. not to mention about 17 of the 19 or so bones that I broke while growing up…..I feel fine, really I do

Well first and foremost Happy belated 45th Birthday Chris. Yeah I hear ya on the aches and pains that greet one every morning right out of the gate. The bad thing beings I'm one year your junior. Well anyway here's my take on the situation at hand. You know how your body can/is supposed to get acclimated with different things/changes in time like: cold, heat, ect.. for examples. Well I think my body does get a little bit acclimated or does try too do so with these aches and pains from (old self-inflicted injuries mostly), but it always seems just about the time it gets used to all of that another one pops up and it all starts all over again then you sit and wonder now just where did this come from. I think its all just a reminder of the adage 'you can't do wrong and get by'

Happy Belated Birthday to you!! & coming from this 55 yr old broad, I quit doing the hair dye thing a couple years ago--- I figure I earned every one of these grey hairs & I'm going to flaunt every one of them!

Add to that, I used to pay good money to get the "highlights" I now have in my hair for free!!!

If anyone is looking for paint silkies...message me. I have 4 chicks right now that are a week old & about a dozen due to hatch in the next 2 weeks. They are from paint to paint breeding. I hate to ship & would be better if they were picked up. I am just south of Alexandria.

The 4 I have now : 3 with LOTS of spots & 1 black ( that could possibly produce paint if bred back to paint.)

I'm not looking for any, but I was wondering, why are they called "paint" in silkies and are, I assume, "splash" in other breeds? or is paint something altogether different in color varieties? or does it have to do with the genetic makeup of the paint gene?

They are very pretty birds!
