First thing in the morning...........
4:30 AM - Wake up and put on my yard clothes
4:35 AM - Go outside and feed the outside cats
4:45 AM - Turn on the outside water faucets, walk to the chicken yard and begin chores
1. Open 11 chicken coops and the main chicken house. Shine the flashlight on every coop/cage/aviary/etc. to make sure that
everyone is ok from the night before.
2. Go to the feed storage building and begin mixing feed
a. Mix (1) 5 gallon bucket of different feed for the sheep
b. Mix a couple scoops of different feed for the goat
c. Mix (5) 5 gallon buckets of different feed for the chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and guineas
3. Walk to the sheep pen and pour their feed in their feeder
4. Walk back to the feed storage building and get their hay and walk to their pen and put it in their hay feeder.
5. Walk back to the feed storage building and get the feed for the goat and walk to his pen and pour the feed
in his feeder.
6. Walk back to the feed storage building and get hay for the goat and walk back to his pen and put it in his hay feeder.
7. Walk back to the feed storage building and start off by picking up (2) 5 gallon buckets and walk to the
chicken yard and put the feed in 2 long troughs.
8. Walk back to the feed storage building and get (2) more 5 gallon buckets of feed.
9. Walk back to the chicken yard and pour in 1 other long feeder trough.
10. Walk to the guinea pen and fill their feeder up with feed.
11. Walk to an outside chicken coop and fill their feeder up with feed.
12. Walk to yet another outside duck pen and till their feeder up with feed.
13. Go to any individual coops and fill up feeders for any chickens that may be in individual coops.
14. Feed younger ducks that are in their dog kennel or other coops.
15. Walk to the aviary and feed the pea fowl
16. Walk to the rabbit house and get their feed and fill up 7 rabbit feeders. Also fill up 7 rabbit waterers.
17. Clean off their rabbit pads (7)
18. Walk back to the feed storage building and get the last 5 gallon bucket and walk to the raised coop and
pour feed in the hanging feeder.
19. Grab the water hose and walk around the entire chicken yard and fill up all waterers/dishpans, troughs/etc
which is about 25. (including sheep and goat)
20. Walk to the 2 outside pens and fill up the waterers for the chickens and ducks.
6:00 AM - Go back inside, take a shower and get ready for work.
The evening chores are the same feeding and watering but with a few more duties. I have to empty and clean out 8 kiddie pools for the ducks and geese and fill up all pools with fresh water. Pick all eggs and do other chores. The evening chores take about 3 hours to complete.
