"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Ha! I'm on my work computer & snuck in & sure enough, I can see the full screen here -- so it's my old home computer that has the problem. I'll fool around w/the resolution when I'm home & also thanks for the hint on the button next to the refresh button, I'll try that also.

At least I can read the whole screen now!

Candled the RIR eggs Sat & saw movement in at least one of them (I'm the world's worst candler) so I know something's in there!

Congrats on the successful Hawaii trip Mike!

Gracie, love your nest buckets -- and such a nice, cheerful color too!

Well, I am usually a Lowe's shopper, but I had a gift certificate to Home Depot so that's where the orange buckets came from! I like them a lot better than the white though... I'm thinking they will show less dirt and poop

Congrats on the RIR eggs. Crossing my fingers.

Terri, I moved a medium size shipping crates (nesting box) for the girls and will need 1 more. I snagged a medium size shipping crate from John Deere. I will have hay/moss and other "jungle like" stuff attached/glued to it, so it won't look like a "box". I plan on "camouflaging" it so it will look like a "den" that will give them a sense of safety, comfort and security, so that they can lay and brood their eggs. I want it to look like a cave or something in the jungle. Kinda like a jungle tepee/bungalow. I'm excited just thinking about how this could possibly turn out. :D

Well we are almost ready to move everyone into the new coop. It's long overdue!

So far I think it has turned out really well. The right side has 4 separate runs with a 5.25ft. X 7ft. of coop space with a 5.25 X 12 ft. run. The left side has one larger coop/run for the layers. It has 10.5ft. x 7 ft. of coop space with a 12ft. x 11.5 ft. run. We left the back left corner open to provide shelter for the sheep and geese. I plan on using some small tarps as wind breaks for the winter, and leaving it nice and open during the summer. The wind is always blowing out there, so it should keep everything nice, dry, and airy. I have to put some more netting up between the coops to keep them from flying out, but once that it done then it's moving day! The next step will be building a small pasture off the back for the sheep and geese. I can't wait to have everyone in one spot!

We lined the bottom with railroad ties, and plan to run electric fence all the way around it. I'll post more pics once we get everyone moved in.
