I tried store bought canned goat milk. followed directions on can and it tasted soo bad. At an organic store, I bought real goat milk cheese, wasn't as good as other cheese at non-organic store.

I saw goat milk at WalMart but was hesitant on buying it. I've been wanting to try goat cheese for some time now. When I get the goat milk, I will try to make some.

Is it just me, or do you find that the goats have more of an "odor" than the sheep?

Yes, goats smell HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!! And my goat loves to rub on me when I go in his goat pen. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

You should splurge and get that incubator.

Before I die, I want to get an incubator and try it out. I'm scared that I may like it and try hatching more than I need. And I"m also scared that my electric bill will increase because it has to be plugged in all day and all night.

Julie, I never noticed any difference in my electric bill the whole time I was using mine!!

That's good to know. I just knew that the electric bill would sky rocket.

I don't know about ya'll but I'm so disgusted with this weather. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy!! Stinky too!!

I hope that everyone survived the terrible weather on yesterday. I'm not sure what touched down at my house yesterday but when I got home from work this is what I found. No animals were hurt. Did anyone else have any bad weather on yesterday? I had chickens in the trees last night, so I had to get a ladder, climb up, snatch them out and put them in the coop. I was doing all of this when the rain was pouring down last night. My knee high rubber boots had water in them (up to my ankles).

Well we had a bunch of rain, and a little wind, but nothing blown away here. I did go check my in construction coops and everything was fine there.. I'm getting some pics ready, and hopefully I can get the sides and the top finished this weekend.

Wow Julie, glad you & your animals all came through that OK! We had a lot of wind & rain here too but thankfully no twisters, altho several were near us. The wind blew all of our heavy outdoor furniture across the yard & we have a lot of limbs down but pens/birds all OK.

My RIR eggs are pipping this morning! didn't expect a hatch until Sat but guess these chicks forgot to read the rule book.

OK have to go watch a tax tutorial for work now. Hope I can stand the excitement..
