"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I use the sevin dust powder on the birds, and I use the seven dust concentrate spray on their coops. The concentrate goes a lot farther than the powder, so you save a TON of money if you have a lot of area to cover!

It is a fairly small tractor Gracie, and Wally-world was out of the single cans of it so I got the three pack, but I will keep that in mind for next time. It is just frustrating to get chickens for the first time and evidently bring them home with lots of mites. I mean when 4 jump off on you, during the day, in 5 min, there was an issue way before three days ago when I bought them. I am disappointed that that was not something, in all my research prior to doing this, I never saw or thought to look for when I bought them Sunday. Now I'm a new chicken owner, with sick chickens. I feel like a bad mommy, lol

Karpadm76 thats a good mommy taken care of their issues lol Bad mommy sold em to you like that.

Been pumpin water with 2 3 in trash pumps all day long. Got the water almost to belly lvl on the PBPs and finally out of the aviary. I think I am getting out of control with some gas companies in the AM. They are going to re route the water their shedding on my land or we going to court. This is absolutely unbeleivable. All the rain we got wouldnt have flooded me out but with the well site they put in they are running all the runoff on to my place and thats wrong on any lvl..

Hope everyone else is doing good :)

Hope you get it all taken care of Mike!! Stay safe!!

I have 21 biddies now! But on a sadder note, Brutus, my silkie roo that I have been treating with antibiotics for 2 weeks died yesterday in the storm :( I think maybe he had an underlying lung puncture or something and he couldn't take the weather. I went out last night to put the birds up and he was lying in the pen barely breathing. I rushed him inside and blow-dried him with warm air, but he died a couple hours later... RIP Brutus. I never thought I'd cry so hard over an animal. If anyone has a silkie roo for sale let me know. Preferably partridge, red or buff.

My girls hatch out partridge/blue partridge chicks a lot, so if you don't find anything, maybe I can hatch a few for you. Let me know!

Ok, got the sevin, did the garden by the chickens, did the small trees and plants that have been by them and waiting on the rain to stop before I pull the girls out of their tractor. Hope this works.

I'll have to get the concentrate. Thanks for the tip.

No need to feel bad. It's part of owning chickens. No one is a perfect chicken owner. We do the best that we can. Things happen with ALL of us. You're not the first and won't be the last. The important thing is that you found the problem, caught it in time and have done something about it. Your chickens thank you for this. Keep us posted. :)
