Ok, so she slept well on the arm of the couch in my living room, but she is coughing about every 2 min or so. I sent a message to the people I got her from and asked them what to do, so we will see what they say. I would hate to lose her she is so pretty!

I took my recently passed silkie roo to the vet in Denham Springs, and it was very reasonable. I got his antibiotics and his visit for about 30$. So if you don't mind paying that for a chicken that is always an option too.

I just went and got pet rx and tetracycline, treated the silver one, went out to treat the others water and noticed they were coughing as well. Needless to say, they are all getting treated with the pet rx and with the tet in their water. The people I got them from replied after I left with we just got them from a guy in MS, ours dont have mites and arent sick. Well, why wouldn't you check them before you take them somewhere else that has lots of chickens there? That kind of makes me not want to go to a swap again, lol I was planning on getting a coronation sussex chick from them when they hatched, but now I'm a little worried about that. Does anyone else have any? LOL I have to wait till I get these better, but I am looking.

Ok, clipped wings, let them out in the yard, bleaching coop, and letting it dry, putting in clean bedding and treating with both meds, hopefully it works. If anybody has any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks, Heather

I have some Coronation Sussex but I'm near Lake Charles. Would you want to try hatching some eggs?
