Howdy all!
Just reminding everyone that is interested in coming, the 2012 Backyard Poultry Expo will be on April 21st at the P&M farm store in West Monroe! We have a lot of prizes this year including another incubator from Brinsea and another from eggcartons.com. We have tables available. Currently I have in my bator for the event.. Runner ducks, mixed ducks,, khaki campbell's and of course barred rocks, and a butt load of seramas!
The flyer is ready at louisianachickens.com
Well Sunday I started on my new coop for my 6 new babies that I picked up at TSC. Next weekend I should have all the walls up and painted, the next weekend it should have the siding on. The chicks will be 6 weeks old and ready to go outside in 3 more weeks!

Oh no! The Watson Swap and Monroe swap are on the same days. What day is the Covington Swap?? I hope it is after the 21st. I hope we can work it out so that we have a swap each month. Do people sell hatching eggs at swaps? I am also starting a series of chicken paintings that I will bring with me to the swaps. Right now I am painting silkies, but I think Im going to branch out to a few other breedsSilkies are just sooo much fun to paint!
My babies are frisky this morning. I will have to take them out to play in the pen
Also, if anyone has a good suggestion on a back up battery for my incubator let me know. I want to buy one asap.
I talked to the lady yesterday about the one in Watson. Monroe is like 3 hours away isn't it?
