"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Not sure about the shade, however I did see a net for shade. I have the fogger and waiting to cut my grass this weekend to try it out. I can't wait!!!! I have been using the Skin So Soft every night by misting the air and spraying everyone's legs. That stuff works !!!!!!!!!!!!! I mist the turkeys at 8 feet high in the air. You should see this crazy lady on a ladder suspended in air spraying a bunch of turkeys. I think I'm crazy!!! Well, not think I'm crazy, I KNOW I'm crazy. It just bothers me to see the mosquitoes biting them and they can't do anything about it. All they can do is shake their heads to get the skeeters of. Speaking of Skeeters, WHERE IS MIKE ???????????????????? :idunno

I like that net. That should work for the babies for sure.

Mike..., he must be doing some SERIOUS fishing.

Thanks. I had them in mind when I saw it. There is a net at Academy (but smaller) that will do the same thing.

I"m tempted to sleep out there with them to make sure it works. :lau

I just went outside to put supper out for the barn cats & a mosquito bigger than Dallas landed on me -- big tiger-striped sucker -- I have NEVER seen one that big!! It bit so hard it hurt like a wasp sting!

I told Jim, get that fogger out & get after it!! I'm going to look for the netting for my outside brooder tomorrow. Or else set up a bigger cardboard brooder box upstairs for another week or two. I've done that before when I was stupid & hatched during winter when it was too cold to move them outside. It's hard to deal with but it works. Whatever it takes to make the babies safe until they can handle outside stuff.

OH NO!! Not the tiger stripped!!! I'm scared of them.

I agree about making the babies safe. I can't put the peas out until their outside brooder is mosquito safe.

T.G.I.F?
Or is it just another day for most like me? Tomorrow will be the same and the next and the next so on and on. I sometimes fell like the Dunkin' donuts man "I gotta go feed the chickens...." every morning bright and early no matter what day of the week it may be called huh? They don't have weekends or days off ya know. LOL

G'day La-yers and BYCers

Yea, just another day. Means more to do in the chicken yard. This is the weekend that I am scheduled to clean and sanitize feeders, waterers, chicken coops and nesting boxes. :barnie :th It's an 8 - 12 hour job. I "think" I have found someone to help me on the weekend with the animal care. THANK GOODNESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand how you feel about every morning bright and early no matter what day of the week. We definitely don't have "normal" schedules and "normal" lives. I don't know what it feels like to "sleep in" until about 10am. :idunno

Even when I'm off from my day job, I'm not really off. :smack The animals remind me of that every day. :/
