Louisiana part deux

hey guys!! Thanks so much for coming out today, I had a good time!
I appreciate everybody's help and contributions, but most of all I appreciate being able to spend time with all of you! You're all welcome any time you like, and I'll be sure to let y'all know when we are processing those roosters, so if anyone wants to participate, you can come on. It'll probably be soon, since our rooster problem is growing!
Thanks again and I hope everyone had a nice trip home.

Thanks for having us!! We had a lot of fun! Thanks again for the beautiful chickens!! I ended up getting 4 guineas, we are happy with them so far. Hopefully they will work out as great as what I am thinking. The lady also told me they kill snakes! I have a horrible snake problem so if that is indeed the case then they will be the answer to my prayers! lol. We are looking forward to getting rid of our rooster situation also. So as long as my hubby is home we are IN! I can't wait to come and visit again, hope to see you soon!

Oh good! I'm glad you're girls are doing well...I'm having faith that they are all girls! If you still want/need a rooster later on, I'm sure I can hatch you an EE roo, I seem to be a roo making expert! LOL
I hope they cleaned up well. My run was a mucky mess until today, I put down shavings and that helps alot.
The Guineas will help alot, I haven't seen mine eats snakes, but I'm sure they would if given the opportunity. I haven't had any ticks this year. Are you planning to let them free range? They are pretty OCD little guys and will wnat back in the run. but if you leave them out long enough they'll hang out and eat stuff.
I'll discuss with Mike when he wants to process, and you tell me when your hubby makes it back in. Y'all can bring them over and we can knock it out. I HAVE got to thin down my roos...I feel so bad though, some of them are sweet boys. We're carefully evaluating who stays and who goes.

I meant to post earlier, but had to run to Arkansas on Sunday, and just got back. Good thing I didn't bring home any chicks, or they likely would have had to come along with us.

See y'all next time.

That would have been a FUN trip! We drove to Florida with some babies for my dear friend, and it was pretty stinky. At least it was a 1 day drive and we got them out quickly!
I was looking in the coop design section yesterday and I saw some really cute coop/run ideas that were really small. Look for the one with the sagging gable coop, it lokks like a storybook house. Precious, and you wouldn't need much room for it. I think it would accomidate your 4-5 girls very nicely! I'm going to get Mike to build me one for my seramas, I can't wait!
Talk to you soon!
