We started it in the afternoon before it got cold. So, I did not pay too much attention to it to be honest. Our chicks were rooming around, eating, drinking, It is warm but not burning hot either. I can touch it and it feels nice and cozy. How long did it take for your heating plate to heat up?
I have the same one and it's been heating up for 1 hour and I barely feel any heat coming from it (I touched the underside of it too and feels barely warm).
