Lovely rant about verizon DSL

Nice. Yeah, I wasn't impressed with their internet. We also have Verizon cell phones, and no landline, and I don't have a problem with that.

I have Quest broadband...I think, lol! I like it most of the time, but lately, I will go to post, and it says page unavailable...so hit the back button, resubmit, and it works

Then my little alerts for MSN messenger pops up, almost like it had started up again..when it was running as far as I knew...I don't know if it's kicking me off, and starting back up right away or what. The joy of technology I guess

I think we should have stayed with dialup. its slow but never had any disconnections. i never heard of quest though. its local I am guessing?

oh ok. I am starting to miss dial up. I hate this. I have been stuck with this porblem for 3 months and still no fix!

Sorry you are having problems with your dsl.
I have verizon too and it has been pretty good here. My dd's was spotty, but probably due to viruses she had. She shuts off her nortons (aack) because she doesn't like it. Anyway, I did a reinstall and updated her network drivers. Now it connects quickly and stays connected. The update/upgrade really seemed to help. Maybe something to try?

Since I live in the country, the only choice was dialup. A year ago wireless highspeed came to my area. Both Rogers & Bell provide this connection in Canada.

Its not just my computer. its all 3. Each one runs a diff operating system. thwe compaq runs windows, the ibook runs mack os x, and my dell runs linux. Before I bought my dell it was just the compaq laptop having problems. I thought "maybe the dell would be better if I install a fresh OS. So I linux. Still problems. Same goes for the mac. I am going to get the compaq setup and even though its slow it will prove that its there problem and not ours. I have played with the wires out side and same problems. I put in a new jack and freshly cut wires and still the same problems. I cant wait to prove them wrong

Here is an upside to the story. Got the compaq working and I did not even need it! go figure. Anyway someone will be here tomorrow.

I have Verizon DSL and love it. The funny thing is, I live so far out I can't get cable. The mail man doesn't even come here. I have a free PO box. But I have DSL. Go figure.
