My daughter and I have been raising silkie chickens. We had 8 chicks that we hatched out. We kept three to live with our 3 hens. They all turned out to be roosters! They are really quite nice and tame, but now, with the crowing, we can't keep them here in the city of Pasadena. We are not happy about that since they really are great pets.
One is black, one is partridge and one is buff. The buff hasn't started crowing yet, but I'm pretty sure he's a male because of the sickle feathering. These fellows are from Amber Waves silkies in Norco. You can go to her site to see her stock. Nice birds, good breeding. Debbie is always winning at the shows.
Anyway just thought I'd put it out there. If anyone is interested, we could take a road trip!
